Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has closed its second Growth Markets Fund at approximately $3bn, nearly tripling the size of its predecessor. The fund targets large-scale energy infrastructure projects across 15 high-growth, middle-income markets in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America.
GMF II has already committed $1.6bn across nine investments and is expected to be fully deployed within one to two years. First Philippine Holdings has rejected KKR’s proposal to acquire an 8.43% stake in its power generation subsidiary First Gen, saying the offer did not reflect the company’s true value. First Philippine owns 67.84% of First Gen.
The proposed stake purchase was expected to trigger a mandatory tender offer at PHP35 ($0.57) per share for First Gen’s public float, implying a transaction value of about PHP165.44bn ($2.69bn). The tender offer was also intended to support a voluntary delisting of First Gen from the Philippine Stock Exchange.

ShengShu Technology, the developer of the Vidu AI video generation platform, is considering an initial public offering in Hong Kong that could raise more than $500m.
The company is working with China International Capital and Citic Securities on the planned listing, which could take place next year. Preparations remain at an early stage and no final decision has been made.

Upstox, one of India’s largest online trading platforms, has begun preparations for a potential initial public offering and is expected to appoint advisers soon. The Tiger Global-backed brokerage could raise about $400m through the listing.
The proposed IPO is expected to include a mix of new shares and a sale by existing investors. Discussions remain preliminary, and details including the size and timing could still change.
Svatantra Microfin files for $314m India IPO. ( Reuters)
Svatantra Microfin has filed for an INR30bn ($314m) IPO in India, comprising INR15bn ($157m) of new shares and an INR15bn ($157m) offer for sale by existing investors.
Advent International and Multiples are selling shares in the offering, while Svatantra plans to use the proceeds from the new issuance to strengthen its Tier I capital base.

Blue Pool Capital has raised approximately $1.4bn for Riverside, its debut private equity fund, more than doubling the vehicle’s initial $750m target. The fund had reached $1bn in commitments by March and had secured about $1.4bn as of 11 August.
The Hong Kong-based investment firm, led by former Citadel partner Oliver Weisberg, manages capital for investors including Alibaba co-founder Joseph Tsai and is expanding its use of external capital. Riverside is expected to support larger private equity investments across sectors including technology, media, sports, consumer, industrials and financial services.
Siguler Guff raises $500m fund to back high-growth businesses in India. ( Press Release)
Siguler Guff has closed its Global Emerging Markets Growth Opportunities Fund II at $500m, more than double its previous fund. The vehicle will target high-growth businesses in India, with average investments of around $50m.
The fund will focus on consumer, healthcare, financial services and technology. Siguler Guff has invested about $1bn across 23 Indian companies to date.
