California and 11 other US states have joined the Writers Guild of America in urging a federal court to reject Paramount Skydance’s request for a $1.88bn bond related to delays in completing its acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery.
The states argued that any costs incurred by Paramount from delays in closing the transaction are self-imposed and should not be shifted to the public or a nonprofit union.

Keurig Dr Pepper has agreed to sell its investment in Chobani back to the yogurt maker for $925m as the beverage group reshapes its portfolio following the acquisition of JDE Peet’s.
The transaction includes the sale of Keurig’s entire equity stake in Chobani for $800m and a manufacturing facility and warehouse in Allentown, Pennsylvania, for $125m. Keurig is also preparing to separate its coffee and beverage operations into two publicly traded US companies.

Chobani plans to invest $1.2bn over five years in a Pennsylvania production facility as the yogurt maker expands into the high-protein milk market.

Wella, the owner of beauty brands including Wella, Clairol and OPI, has filed for a US initial public offering following an increase in revenue and a return to profitability.
The New York-based company reported net income of $2.7m on revenue of $2.94bn for the year ended June 30, 2026, compared with a net loss of $44.6m on revenue of $2.69bn a year earlier.

SoftBank-backed data center operator SB Energy has filed for a US initial public offering to support the expansion of its artificial intelligence infrastructure business.
The company combines data centers with solar power and battery storage and has 8.8 gigawatts of data center capacity contracted or under construction across sites in Texas and Ohio. SB Energy also has 5.5 gigawatts of power projects contracted, under construction or operating.

Salesforce is investing in human resources software company HiBob as part of a $166m funding round that values the business at more than $3.2bn.
Salesforce is leading the financing and providing the majority of the capital, with Farallon Capital Management also participating in the round.

The steelmaker had agreed to acquire the remaining 51% stake in ArcelorMittal CLN Distribuzione Italia as part of a broader debt restructuring between CLN and its lenders. The withdrawal clears the way for a domestic rival to potentially take control of the business.

Payward, the developer of the xStocks tokenized equities platform, has partnered with the London Stock Exchange to expand tokenization across UK equity markets. The initiative will make the 100 largest London-listed companies available as tokenized representations of their shares in the coming weeks.
The xStocks framework provides 1:1-backed representations of publicly traded shares and has generated more than $40bn in total trading volume, including over $20bn settled onchain. The planned expansion will provide investors in more than 110 countries with access to tokenized UK-listed equities, although the products will not initially be available to UK-based investors.

GRT Jewellers has agreed to acquire a controlling 74.12% stake in Indian jewellery retailer Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri for up to INR10.34bn ($108.66m), subject to regulatory approvals.
The stake will be acquired from the 162-year-old company’s largest shareholders and will trigger a mandatory open offer for an additional 26% under India’s takeover regulations.

Shein shares were set to open flat in their Hong Kong trading debut after the fast-fashion group raised funds at a valuation of about $26.5bn, significantly below its estimated $100bn valuation in 2022.
The listing follows unsuccessful attempts to go public in New York and London amid regulatory scrutiny and concerns over its business practices. Shein has also faced pressure from tariff and duty changes in the US and Europe, which have weighed on its low-cost business model.

Ares Management’s real estate arm has raised JPY612bn ($4bn) for its fifth Japan logistics development fund, marking the unit’s largest closed-end institutional fundraise to date.
Japan Logistics Development Partners V reached its maximum fundraising target and is nearly 50% larger than its predecessor, which closed in 2021.
International Finance Corporation is considering providing up to $80m in trade finance support to India’s IDFC First Bank, with the proposed investment currently pending approval.
The facility would be provided under IFC’s Global Trade Finance Program and used to guarantee trade-related payment obligations of IDFC First Bank. The financing would have a tenor of up to 12 months, with a $20m sublimit available for up to three years.
