Starbucks is considering selling a majority stake in its Japan business in a transaction that could value the operations at around $3bn. The company is seeking advice on potential options, with a formal sale process potentially starting in the fourth quarter.
Starbucks took full control of its Japan business in 2014 for about $914m, valuing it at roughly $1.5bn at the time. The business has since expanded from around 1k stores to 1.8k outlets.

National Stock Exchange of India is launching its $2.3bn initial public offering, set to become India’s third-largest IPO, with shares priced at INR1.7k–INR1.79k ($13.2-$13.9) each and the exchange valued at about $46bn. The offering consists entirely of shares sold by existing investors.
Anchor investor bidding begins on September 16, followed by public subscriptions through September 21. The pricing is 15%-20% below levels sought during earlier roadshows amid investor concerns over declining derivatives trading volumes.

The Reserve Bank of India has refused to relax listing requirements for Tata Sons, increasing pressure on the Tata Group holding company to pursue a potential public listing.
