Shell and Phillips 66 are exploring the sale of their stakes in the company that owns the Explorer refined products pipeline, in a transaction that could value the asset at around $3.5bn. 

The potential sale comes amid strong investor demand for energy infrastructure assets, particularly from financial buyers, as owners look to capitalize on higher valuations and redeploy capital into core or faster-growing businesses.

Johnson & Johnson has entered into a strategic collaboration with Sail Biomedicines to develop in vivo CAR‑T therapies for immune‑mediated diseases and other therapeutic applications.
 
Under the agreement, Johnson & Johnson will make initial payments of $785m, including a $465m equity investment, and may make additional milestone payments. The company has also secured an exclusive option to acquire Sail Biomedicines for $2.58bn, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
 
FTC split lets lonQ-SkyWater quantum deal close without changes. (Bloomberg)

IonQ is set to complete its $1.8bn acquisition of SkyWater Technology later this week after the US Federal Trade Commission was unable to reach a decision on whether to impose conditions on the transaction.

The FTC deadlocked 1-1 on a proposed settlement that would have required IonQ to commit not to disadvantage rival companies that rely on SkyWater's manufacturing services.

Braveheart Bio is seeking to raise up to $318.8m in a US initial public offering, adding to a growing pipeline of biotech listings.

Attovia Therapeutics, a clinical‑stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for immune‑mediated diseases, is seeking to raise up to $212.5m through an initial public offering in the United States.
 
The California‑based company plans to offer 12.5m shares at a price range of $15 to $17 per share. Proceeds from the offering are expected to support the development of its therapeutic pipeline and ongoing clinical programs.
 
GTCR closes $1.25bn Capital Solutions Fund. (Press Release)

GTCR has closed its inaugural Capital Solutions Fund and affiliated vehicles with approximately $1.25bn in aggregate commitments. 

The fundraising was backed almost entirely by existing long-term limited partners across GTCR’s other funds, including pension plans, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions. The fund has already completed several investments.
 
Senators warn Apple not to buy memory from Chinese companies. (Bloomberg)

A bipartisan group of US senators has urged Apple to refrain from sourcing memory chips from Chinese semiconductor manufacturers CXMT and Yangtze Memory Technologies. 

In a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook, the lawmakers said the company should avoid using chips from the two suppliers, including in devices intended for the Chinese market. They noted that both CXMT and Yangtze Memory Technologies appear on a recently updated US Department of Defense list of Chinese entities.

Unilever agrees to two-year worker protection after $65bn McCormick merger, memo shows. (Reuters)

Unilever has agreed to protect the employment terms of workers in its European and UK food business for two years following the planned completion of its $65bn merger with McCormick & Company in 2027. 

The guarantee, which extends through at least mid-2029, will preserve employee pay and working conditions regardless of changes in business conditions and is longer than the employment protections typically offered in transactions of this kind.
 
DAZN investor Aser explores options for stake in sports streamer. (Reuters)

Aser Ventures is considering selling part of its minority stake in DAZN as it explores funding options for its expansion plans. 

Aser became a shareholder in DAZN in 2023 when the sports streaming company acquired ELEVEN Group. Discussions are ongoing, and no final decision has been made on a potential stake sale.
 
Snam to shortlist Bioenerys bidders by fall. (Bloomberg)

Snam plans to shortlist preferred bidders for its biomethane business, Bioenerys, by the fall, with the sale expected to close by the end of 2026. 

The company said investors and energy companies submitted bids for Bioenerys by 28th July deadline, as Snam advances the sale process.

Sanofi CEO Belen Garijo faced her first major investor test after taking the helm of the French drugmaker, with her debut earnings report highlighting the challenge of sustaining growth beyond established products. 

Sanofi reported better-than-expected quarterly results and raised its full-year sales and profit outlook, though growth was driven largely by an aging medicine, underscoring the strategic priorities facing Garijo as she begins her tenure.

Abhi microfinance bank is preparing to launch an initial public offering in August 2026, aiming to raise PKR2bn ($7.2m) to PKR3bn ($10.8m).

The lender, part of fintech group Abhi, plans to offer around 14% of its shares in the IPO and has held a roadshow in London targeting investors from Pakistan and other frontier and emerging markets.
