Hedge fund Millennium valued at $14bn in minority stake sale talks. (FT)

Millennium Management is in discussions to sell a minority interest in its management firm, in a transaction that would value the hedge fund titan at $14bn.

The firm has enlisted Goldman Sachs' Petershill Partners to help find investors for a 10% to 15% ownership stake. Millennium currently oversees more than $75bn in assets spanning equities, fixed income, and commodities.
 
Mitsubishi in talks to sign $8bn deal with gas producer Aethon. (WSJ)

Mitsubishi is nearing an agreement to acquire assets from Aethon Energy Management in a deal valued at nearly $8bn, which would mark the largest acquisition in the Japanese conglomerate’s history.

It is indicated that the Tokyo-based company may finalize and announce the transaction with the US-based energy investment firm within the next few months.
 
SoftBank sells T-Mobile stake for $4.8bn to bet on AI. (Bloomberg)

SoftBank has generated approximately $4.8bn by offloading shares in T-Mobile US, a step aimed at supporting its ambitious artificial intelligence initiatives.

The Japan-based tech conglomerate conducted an overnight block sale without registration, selling 21.5m T-Mobile shares at $224 apiece. This transaction reflects a roughly 3% markdown from T-Mobile’s closing price of $230.99 on June 16.
 
MEG Energy's Board recommends shareholders to reject Strathcona $4.4bn offer. (Press Release)

Canadian oil producer MEG Energy has advised shareholders to reject a CAD6bn ($4.4bn) hostile takeover offer from Strathcona Resources, calling the bid inadequate, opportunistic, and not in shareholders' best interests.

In response, MEG's board has initiated a strategic review to explore alternatives that could yield a better outcome than remaining independent.

Spanish bank Sabadell is exploring a sale of its UK unit TSB after receiving initial interest from potential buyers. The move comes as part of its strategy to counter a hostile €12.3bn ($14bn) takeover bid from rival BBVA, which was rejected by Sabadell's board in May 2024.

Advisers have circulated sale documents, and bids are expected this month. RBC Capital Markets analyst has designated NatWest as the most suitable acquirer.

Robert “Woody” Johnson IV, co-owner of the New York Jets and former US ambassador to the UK, is reportedly in talks to acquire a major stake in Crystal Palace, the current FA Cup champions.

Johnson has been in ongoing discussions with John Textor, who holds over 40% of the club. Although negotiations had previously stalled due to pricing disagreements, they have recently picked up again amid a possible need for Textor to sell his share.
 
Autodoc's IPO is set to value car parts retailer at $2.8bn. (Press Release)

Autodoc aims to raise up to €403m ($466m) in what could be one of Germany’s biggest IPOs this year.

The online auto parts retailer’s founders and private equity firm Apollo Global Management are offering around 6.6m shares, priced between €58 ($67) and €61 ($70) each. If priced at the top of that range, Autodoc’s market value would reach €2.44bn ($2.8bn).

Shareholders of Hacksaw, a company that creates and distributes online betting games, are aiming to raise up to SEK3.35bn ($355m) through an IPO in Stockholm.

The company plans to offer up to 43.5m shares at a fixed price of SEK77 ($8) each, valuing the company at approximately SEK22bn ($2.3bn).
